Alliance Futbol Club Announces Former Major League Soccer Player
Kevin Ellis as Technical Director 

 

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kevin Ellis, has been named Technical Director at Alliance Futbol Club LLC. Ellis, an 8-year MLS veteran and Kansas City Native will oversee all aspects of Alliance FC coaching operations.  Including player development, coaching assignments, club curriculum, college player placement, and continuing coaches’ education.  “Since I retired from the MLS in January, I have wanted to work in one place and for one organization here in Kansas City.  That organization was Alliance Futbol Club.” said Ellis. “This is an organization with great families and a scalable vision for the future. I look forward to building upon their foundation and continuing to create impactful relations with all our student-athletes.”

Alliance Futbol Club, LLC is also implementing a new coaching structure. Guerrero Pino has been elevated to Director of Coaching for the East and Kye Martey has been elevated to Director of Coaching for the North. “It is so rewarding to be able to recognize and promote both Pino and Kye to Directors of Coaching.”, said Mark Ferguson, president Alliance Futbol Club LLC. “We are so fortunate to have the ability to mix both Pino and Kye as DOC’s to work hand in hand with Kevin.  These 3 individuals have extensive soccer experience and stature within our Kansas City market.”

About Kevin Ellis: Born and raised in the Kansas City area, Kevin Ellis was the second homegrown player in Sporting KC history at the age of 19.  He has the honor of being the first ever homegrown player to play in a MLS game.  Kevin has spent the last 8 years playing in the MLS with three notable clubs; Sporting KC, Chicago Fire and DC United.  “I am excited to join a great club in the city where I grew up!  I look forward to passing along my knowledge of the game to the next generations of athletes.”

About Kye Martey: Born in London, England played soccer in the professional youth Academy of Mansfield town FC for 4 years.  After being released at the point of senior professional contracts, Kye played non-league semiprofessional soccer before coming to the USA and Kansas City in 2013.  He player at MCC Blue River before becoming an assistant coach for MCC Maple Woods between 2014-2018.  “Soccer has given me so many opportunities, to which I am greatly thankful for.  I am looking forward to spread my passion and love for the game, in hopes that others can gain so much through the sport.”

About Guerrero Pino: Born in Mexico and grew up playing in the Dorados UACH Professional 2nd Division before coming the Kansas City.  He attended college at the University of Missouri, Kansas City where he was a 4 year member of the Roos soccer team.  He then went on to play 3 seasons with the KC Comets of the Major Arena Soccer League and currently is rostered with the San Diego Sockers.  Pino also plays for the Mexican National Arena Soccer Team.
