NEWS: Five 2019 Alliance FC Academy graduates lead two Play NAIA Universities to record breaking seasons. Ethan Martinez, Korby Ring, Carson Lindsey, Carson Linder & Avery James.
Alliance FC would like to congratulate William Penn University Men's Soccer. The team is having a record season, that has pushed them into the Top 10 national rankings for the NAIA. The team boasts two Alliance FC graduates. Ethan Martinez and Korby Ring, who were also part of our National League winning U19 Academy team in Spring 2019’.
Head Coach Jaymee Duke Highcock commented about two of his starting freshmen.
Korby has been a fantastic addition to the team and has played extremely well in the holding mid position. He is technically improving all the time and he has made the position his own this season. It is a joy to coach him every day and he is now playing his best soccer at the most important stage of the season.
Ethan was a very late signing in the summer. He came in very fit and hit the ground running. He works very hard in every game and has scored some big goals for us this season. He is learning from some of the best attacking players in the nation and I am sure he has an extremely bright future in the game of soccer.
I want to say a big thanks to Brian Budzinski, Neil Kelly and Kye Martey for helping us recruit these student athletes. Every day is a joy to be around them and that is a credit to everyone who has helped them to get where they are now. They have helped lead William Penn University to the top 10 in the nation and break numerous school records along the way. Hopefully they can push on now for the rest of the season and lead the team to more success.
We have a big WOW for the Nationally ranked #2, undefeated Columbia College Soccer. They won their quarterfinal game on Saturday to chalk off another win to move them to 18-0-0. Coming off the back of a first ever 17-0-0 season for the team, built off a defensive foundation that only conceded 5 goals during the regular season.
Another team boasting three Alliance FC graduates. Avery James, Carson Lindsey and Carson Linder were also part of the National League winning U19 Academy team in spring 19’.
Coach John Klein has high praise for these boys, who have fitted like a glove into the Columbia College Cougars program.
“First and foremost, Avery and the two Carson’s are all young men of top-notch character. They are respectful young men who love to compete and play the game at a high level. All three arrived at Columbia physically and mentally prepared to compete and contribute to our program’s success. They have all had exceptional freshman years, and we look forward to watching them grow over the next several years.”
Well done fellas. What a season so far and long may it continue! Good luck to both programs in their semifinal game. We hope our players will be reunited at the NAIA national tournament!
